The State has accumulated Sh1.23 billion in unpaid bills to Nairobi Hospital through the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), piling pressure on the facility’s liquidity.
Latest financial disclosures show that, as of February 28, 2026, the hospital’s outstanding debtors stood at Sh2.4 billion, with SHA owing Sh514 million and NHIF Sh720 million.
